Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov denies rumors of involvement in attack on Komil Allamjanov

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has denied any connection to the recent attack on Komil Allamjonov, former head of the Presidential Administration's Information Policy Department. Addressing rumors of a “Chechen link” in the case, Kadyrov called these allegations “provocative” and asserted that Chechens and Uzbeks share a long-standing bond as “brotherly peoples with a common history.”

Kadyrov criticized media outlets for implicating him in the incident without evidence, stating, “Pro-Western and some domestic opposition media hastily fabricated the narrative of a ‘Chechen trace’ in this matter and even tried to link it to me.” He added that an investigation is underway to determine the origins of what he described as “provocative information” intended to strain relations between the nations.

“I will only say that if I had indeed planned something, I would have followed through to a 100% result,” Kadyrov remarked, dismissing the allegations as a political tool used by third parties.

Kadyrov emphasized his commitment to finding the source of the rumors, stating, “My dear brothers in Uzbekistan and I will undoubtedly uncover who is behind this information ploy. The work is already in progress.”

The investigation follows a shooting incident on October 26, when two assailants allegedly fired multiple shots at Allamjonov’s Range Rover in Tashkent’s Qibray district. No one was harmed in the incident, but authorities have since opened a criminal case under articles covering attempted murder and the illegal use of firearms. One suspect was detained on October 27, with three others apprehended the following day.
