Law enforcement officers confiscate over 255 kg of drugs worth 161 billion UZS

In October, Uzbek law enforcement authorities seized more than 255 kilograms of illegal narcotics and disrupted the distribution of a wide range of drugs, including marijuana, heroin, hashish, synthetic substances, and over 800,000 illicit tablets.

During the month-long anti-drug campaign, authorities reported 1,155 cases involving the illegal trade of narcotics. The seizures included:

-  99 kilograms of marijuana
-  67 kilograms of heroin
-  63 kilograms of hashish
-  15 kilograms of synthetic drugs
-  11 kilograms of opium
-  691 grams of poppy straw

Additionally, a total of 824,747 tablets containing powerful substances were confiscated. Law enforcement also dismantled criminal groups utilizing "dead drops" for drug distribution.

The operation extended to the destruction of 287 drug-containing plant bushes found across various regions.

Authorities estimate the retail value of the seized narcotics at 161.4 billion UZS, underscoring the significant economic impact of this illicit trade.
