Nearly 1 billion UZS in counterfeit money seized in Fergana
Authorities in the Fergana region have uncovered a counterfeiting operation involving nearly 1 billion UZS. Three individuals were apprehended while attempting to sell the fake currency in the Jizzakh region for $27,200.

Law enforcement agencies conducted a swift operation, catching the suspects red-handed with counterfeit banknotes amounting to 998.74 million UZS. The notes, in denominations of 200,000, 100,000, and 20,000 UZS, were found to have been produced using an inkjet printer.
Further investigation revealed that the three individuals had collaborated to manufacture and distribute the counterfeit money. The seized banknotes have been retained as evidence, and investigative actions are currently underway.
Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the suspects as the investigation continues to determine the full scope of the operation.
