Possible date for introduction of visa-free regime with China announced
Uzbekistan Airways has revealed plans for new flights to China and announced that the visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China is anticipated to take effect after March of this year.
"Following March, the introduction of the visa-free regime between our countries is expected, which is anticipated to lead to a tenfold increase in passenger traffic between Uzbekistan and China. We see immense potential in this market," said Shukhrat Yadgarov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Commercial Affairs and Tourism at Uzbekistan Airways.
In connection with this, the airline plans to launch new flights from Tashkent to Shenzhen and from Fergana to Urumqi.
For context, at the end of last year, Uzbekistan and China signed an agreement establishing a visa-free regime for Uzbek citizens. This agreement will allow Uzbekistan citizens to travel without a visa for up to 30 days.
