President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree abolishing the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and the Wool Industry. The decree also outlines the establishment of new entities, including regional pasture management enterprises and the creation of a Pasture Development Department within the Committee for Veterinary Medicine. These measures aim to enhance the management and sustainable use of pasturelands.
By December 1, 2025, the E-yaylov electronic platform is expected to be launched, enabling more efficient pasture use and promoting transparency in their distribution. Pastures will be available for lease for up to 49 years.
A national commission will oversee issues related to pasture protection, the development of karakul sheep farming, and the leather and wool industries.
