Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Suriname
The country has become the 158th state with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic ties.

A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Suriname was signed in New York. The document was inked on behalf of both governments by the countries' permanent representatives to the United Nations.
The Republic of Suriname has now become the 158th country with which Uzbekistan has formalized diplomatic relations.
Suriname is a country in the northeastern part of South America, bordering Guyana to the west, French Guiana to the east, Brazil to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
