Uzbekistan’s secondary car market sees price drops

A study conducted by specialists from the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies (IMRS) analyzed price changes in the secondary car market for February 2025.

Price trends of popular local cars

The average price of widely used local cars decreased in February. Specifically:

• Onix:
• Moderately used: ↓3% (from $13,500 to $13,100)
• Slightly used: ↓0.1% (from $14,865 to $14,850)
• Lacetti:
• Heavily used: ↓0.3% (from $13,500 to $13,461)
• Cobalt:
• Moderately used: ↓2.4% (from $12,300 to $12,000)
• Slightly used: ↓1.2% (from $12,750 to $12,600)
• Heavily used: ↓0.5% (from $11,600 to $11,538)
• Nexia:
• Moderately used: ↓1.9% (from $11,500 to $11,284)
• Heavily used: ↓0.9% (from $10,800 to $10,700)
• Spark:
• Moderately used: ↓1% (from $10,500 to $10,400)
• Heavily used: ↓0.9% (from $9,600 to $9,500)
• Damas:
• Moderately used: ↓3.6% (from $7,985 to $7,000)
• Slightly used: ↓0.8% (from $8,061 to $8,000)

Price trends of local luxury cars

• Equinox:
• Heavily used: ↓1.1% (from $27,300 to $27,000)
• Moderately used: ↑3.2% (from $31,000 to $30,008)
• Malibu:
• Slightly used: ↓0.7% (from $31,907 to $31,682)
• Moderately used: almost unchanged (from $29,000 to $29,070)
• Tracker:
• Heavily used: ↓1.1% (from $16,984 to $16,800)
• No change in slightly and moderately used models

Price trends of BYD EVs

During this period, the BYD E2 became a strong competitor to local mass-market cars, while the price of the new BYD Song Plus dropped significantly.

• New: ↓0.5% (from $32,150 to $32,000)

The study categorized cars based on mileage and production year as follows:

• Manufactured in 2024 and driven less than 20,000 km
• All cars manufactured in 2025
• Moderately used:
• Manufactured in 2024 with 20,000 to 50,000 km mileage
• Manufactured in 2022-2023 with less than 40,000 km mileage
• Heavily used:
• Manufactured in 2024 with over 50,000 km mileage
• Manufactured in 2022-2023 with over 40,000 km mileage
• All cars manufactured in 2021

Data collection methodology

The price analysis was conducted using web scraping from the olx.uz platform. Data from over 20,200 listings in January and 18,500 listings in February were analyzed, focusing on cars manufactured from 2021 onward.
