  • The Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Slovakia, signed in New York on September 24, 2024.
  • The Bilateral Investment Treaty between the Government of Uzbekistan and India, signed in Tashkent on September 27, 2024.

The Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade has been designated as the responsible authority for implementing these international agreements. The Cabinet of Ministers, along with relevant ministries and agencies, will oversee the enforcement of the agreements once they come into effect.

The economic cooperation agreements between Uzbekistan and Portugal, as well as Uzbekistan and Slovakia, were signed by the foreign ministers of both countries. Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, emphasized that these documents would significantly enhance trade and investment cooperation. He also noted that the agreement with Slovakia would foster stronger business ties, trade development, and the implementation of joint projects, contributing to the advancement of bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, the bilateral investment treaty between Uzbekistan and India was signed during a business forum by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khodjayev, and India’s Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. This agreement ensures that Uzbek investors in India and Indian investors in Uzbekistan receive adequate protection in line with international standards.
