Abdulaziz Kamilov receives high Italian state award for foreign policy contributions

Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, has been awarded the rank of Officer in the “Order of Merit of the Italian Republic” for his services.

The recognition was officially announced in a press release published on the official website of Gazzetta Ufficiale, the official journal of the Italian government.

The list of awardees also includes other distinguished individuals from Italy and abroad.

The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana) is Italy’s highest state decoration, established on March 3, 1951. It is awarded to both Italian citizens and foreign nationals for significant contributions in the fields of literature, the arts, economy, philanthropy, as well as social and humanitarian activities.

The award is presented by the President of Italy with the consent of the Prime Minister and is typically conferred twice a year – on June 2 (Republic Day) and December 27 (Constitution Day).
