Uzbekistan appoints its first ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina with residence in Vienna, presented his credentials to Željka Cvijanović, Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Dunyo news agency.

Following the formal ceremony held at the Presidency building, the two sides held talks focused on prospects for enhancing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding cooperation in trade, the economy, culture, and tourism.

Chairwoman Cvijanović praised the wide-ranging reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and highlighted the tangible results achieved.

Both sides expressed their readiness to elevate relations to a qualitatively new level.

It should be noted that Bakhtiyor Ibragimov is also accredited as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Austria, Albania, and Slovakia. In addition, he serves as the country’s official representative to several international organizations based in Vienna, including the OSCE, UNODC, CTBTO, IAEA, and other UN agencies.
