Gov’t delays license requirement for mopeds and scooters until October
Licensing for moped and scooter riders will become mandatory starting in October.
Earlier, it was announced that riders of mopeds and scooters would be required to obtain a category A driver's license by March 1, 2025. From that date, operating such vehicles without a license was expected to be prohibited.
However, according to a government resolution, the implementation of this requirement has been postponed by six months — until October 1 of this year.
The regulation applies to mopeds and scooters already in use, with engine displacements ranging from 25 cm³ to 50 cm³, electric motor power between 0.25 kW and 4 kW, and design speeds ranging from 25 km/h to 50 km/h.
