Uzbekistan to partner with Russian company for production of small aircraft in Navoi

A new project launched in cooperation with a Russian company aims to produce 100 small aircraft in Uzbekistan's Navoi region over the next three years. The first aircraft is scheduled to be completed by October 2025.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the administration of the Navoi Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and a Russian company to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles. The head of the Navoi FEZ, Khabib Abdullayev, shared the details with Kun.uz.

According to Abdullayev, the total value of the project is $30 million. It is planned that 100 aircraft will be produced within three years in the Navoi FEZ. The first unit is expected to roll out in October 2025.

He also noted that the aircraft will not only serve domestic needs but will also be exported to other countries.

For reference, the SP-30 model, developed by the Russian company Pervoye Opytno-Konstruktorskoye Byuro (First Experimental Design Bureau), is a lightweight, two-seater aircraft designed mainly for agricultural purposes, pilot training, and recreational flights. These aircraft are powered by 100-horsepower engines and can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h.
