AS Roma announced the results of its April Player of the Month fan poll, revealing that Shomurodov has earned the accolade for the second time this season. The Uzbek forward received the highest number of votes among four nominees on the club's official website, significantly outpacing Soule, Svilar, and N'Dicka.
During April, Roma played four Serie A matches. They recorded draws against strong opponents Juventus and Lazio (both 1–1), before securing narrow 1–0 wins over Verona and league leaders Inter.
In the match against Juventus, Shomurodov came off the bench to score the equalizer. He was also subbed on in the second half against Lazio and impressed with his energetic performance.
Starting against Verona, the Uzbekistan international scored the winning goal just four minutes into the match. In the Inter game, he featured from the beginning and assisted Soule’s decisive goal, helping preserve the lead.
Under the management of Claudio Ranieri, the team is currently on an 18-game unbeaten run. With only four matches remaining in the season, Roma continues its fight for a Champions League spot. The team sits in sixth place with 60 points, just two points behind Juventus, who hold the fourth and final qualification spot. Roma will host Fiorentina in the upcoming round.
It’s worth noting that Shomurodov was first named Roma’s Player of the Month back in February.
