Doctors to be licensed to practice medicine in Uzbekistan from July 1, 2019

The Legislative Chamber of the Parliament listened to the report of the Minister of Health A. Shodmonov on the activities of the healthcare sphere.

According to the Minister, from July 1, 2019, the categorization system will be terminated and all doctors will switch to licensing, a Deputy Rasul Kusherbayev wrote in his telegram channel.

Unlicensed specialist will not be able to practice medicine. A draft document on this is under preparation.

We hope that this will not be an obstacle for physicians, the report said.

It is expected that by the end of the year, a free medical examination procedure will be introduced for healthcare workers.

Now they are undergoing medical examination in polyclinics at their place of residence on a paid basis, which, in turn, contradicts the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the deputy added.
