Abdulaziz Kamilov receives newly appointed Ambassador of Cuba
On January 25, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba with residence in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, the press service of the Ministry reported.
Welcoming the Ambassador after the ceremony of presentation of credentials, the Minister congratulated him on his high and responsible appointment to Uzbekistan and wished him success.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of development of relations both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations.
The sides noted with satisfaction the successful holding of the first round of bilateral political consultations in September 2018 in Tashkent, which made it possible to focus attention on promising directions for the development of the Uzbek-Cuban dialogue.
The commitment of Uzbekistan and Cuba to further strengthening cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian fields on a mutually beneficial basis was reaffirmed.
The parties also exchanged views on some issues of international politics.
