Uzbekistan simplifies visa regime for citizens of Iran, SAR and Hong Kong

Starting from 19 March, citizens of Iran, South African Republic (SAR) and Hong Kong will be eligible for an e-visa to enter Uzbekistan. Also, citizens of Iran, SAR and Hong Kong, who purchase real estate in Uzbekistan, will enjoy the right to live in the country. Kun.uz correspondent reports about it.
In January 2019, Uzbek gov’t expanded the list of countries whose citizens access to an e-entry visa.
In order to develop international relations and create favorable conditions for improvement of the investment climate, which has a positive impact on development of the country's tourism sector, on March 19, 2019, the Islamic Republic of Iran, South Africa and the Hong Kong special administrative region under the People's Republic of China were also included in the list.
According to the same decree, citizens of Iran, SAR and Hong Kong will have the right to live in the country upon purchase of real estate in Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that foreigners wishing to reside in the Republic of Uzbekistan should purchase the following real estate objects at the territorial sites:
In Tashkent city and Tashkent region: $400,000;
In Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions: $200,000;
In other regions: from $100,000.
In this regard, it is expected that the inflow of tourists to Uzbekistan will increase in the near future.
