International investment forum “Doing business with Namangan” concluded
On June 7-8, 2019, an international investment forum “Doing business with Namangan” took place in Namangan. Organizers of the conference were the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the regional administration of Namangan together with relevant ministries and departments.
The forum was attended by over 500 people, including 350 foreign guests, 230 representatives of foreign business circles from 36 countries, accredited diplomatic corps and foreign media in Uzbekistan, as well as 18 ambassadors of Uzbekistan abroad.
According to the MFA press service, during the sectional sessions, a wide range of issues of industrial development and renewable energy, agriculture, innovation and tourism in the Namangan region were discussed. After that, an exhibition of export goods of the Namangan region in various industries was organized, as well as negotiations in the B2B and B2G formats were held.
Along with this, separate substantive negotiations with representatives of major foreign companies from India, Russia, Austria, China, Iran, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Great Britain, Germany and others were organized at the regional administration of Namangan.
As a result of the first day of the forum, 24 investment agreements and export contracts totaling more than $170 million were signed. On the second day, another 15 agreements were concluded. As a whole, 39 documents were signed totaling $320 million.
Within the framework of the forum, the regional administration of Namangan together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the first time in the region developed and launched an Internet portal MADEINNAMANGAN.UZ to support exporters. The website contains a catalog of manufacturers of Uzbekistan.
