Construction work in the historical part of Shakhrisabz requires approval by UNESCO

Construction work in the historical part of Shakhrisabz is allowed only after obtaining the approval of UNESCO, follows from the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which approves the program for the integrated development of the city for 2019-2020.

The document approves the list of investment projects that should lead to the emergence of new enterprises and jobs. Among them, for example, there are 64 projects in the services sector for 313 billion soums and 24 projects in the industry for 304 billion soums. There are a total of 157 projects in six areas. It is predicted that 1,068 new jobs will be created in 2019, and another 479 — in 2020.

The total amount of financing is estimated at 867 billion soums, most of them are own funds of companies and enterprises (321 billion soums). It is also planned to attract foreign investment in the amount of $29.5 million.
