Khokim of Andijan region: Why should I give money to a team that takes the 14th place? (video)

A video went viral on social networks in which the khokim of the Andijan region Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov, at a meeting with athletes, is outraged that he should give money to the FC “Andijan”, which ranked 14th in the Super League standings.

The khokim asks what the team’s place in the standing is. He was replied that in the 10th place, to which the khokim is outraged:

“Now in the 10th, used to be in the 14th place. Isn’t it a shame to give them money? I built a stadium for 17 billion soums, I pay them a monthly salary, they get a minimum of 10 million, but there is no result. I explain to them that if one works on the field, he seeds, grows and harvests cotton, if a student goes to a university, he becomes a teacher, a doctor or someone else. But the football players are given money, and they constantly lose games. So why should I pay them, isn’t it disappointing? Moreover, all this money is 100% sponsored. When the team plays better, sponsors also have a desire to support. 

But when the team constantly loses, sponsors also ask themselves the question: why do we sponsor them? It got to the point that I stopped to talk with them. I do not need such a football. Recently, I felt sorry for the team and again gave money. Lately, the game has been improved and we moved from the 14th place to the tenth position. I promised them that if they win, I am ready to pay 100 million soums for each game. It is in addition to their salary. They won the FC “Metallurg” and I fulfilled my promise, gave them 100 million soums in cash. Before the game with “Navbahor”, I gave 280 million soums in cash. I promised that if they win, I will give another 100 million soums. But they lost this match with a score of 0:1. I think that the team did not play well. If there is a result, I will pay, if not, then what should I pay for? A person who receives a salary of 10 million should play wholeheartedly,” the khokim of the Andijan region said.

It should be recalled that on August 18, the FC “Andijan” lost to “Navbahor” (0:1). Now “Andijan” takes the 11th place in the Super League standings with 16 points after 17 games.
