First results of parliamentary elections announced
The results of the elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis have been announced.
According to the chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo Ulugbek Abdusalomov, 128 deputies were elected from 150 constituencies where parliamentary elections were held.
Candidates from five political parties, namely: the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Democratic Party “Milliy Tiklanish”, the Social Democratic Party “Adolat”, the People’s Democratic Party and the Ecological Party attended in the elections.
In accordance with the results, 43 candidates from UzLiDeP, 35 from “Milliy Tiklanish”, 21 from “Adolat”, 18 from PDPU and 11 from Ecological Party won seats in the elections.
According to the CEC Chairman, the total attendance, including abroad, was 67.8 percent.
In 22 constituencies, where candidates did not get enough votes, repeat elections will be held.
