Foreign nationals with status of UAE resident to be allowed to enter Uzbekistan for 30 days without a visa

On December 28, 2019, a decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to further simplify the entry regime to the Republic of Uzbekistan for the citizens of the United Arab Emirates” was signed.
The document says that a number of amendments and additions will be introduced to further strengthen the potential of FDI attraction to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to increase the investment attractiveness of our country for UAE investors.
According to the decree:
1. The part “citizens of the United Arab Emirates” is supplemented with the words “as well as foreign nationals with the resident status of the United Arab Emirates”.
2. Point 1 is stated in the following wording:
“1. Visa-free regime is established for citizens of the United Arab Emirates from March 20, 2019, as well as for foreign citizens, who have become resident of the United Arab Emirates, since January 1, 2020, from the date of entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan. Foreign nationals, who have become UAE residents, must submit a valid residence permit for at least 90 days upon entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
