Electric vehicle assembly plant to be built in Andijan
An electric vehicle assembly plant will be built in the Andijan region.
This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the region, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“We will study the Chinese experience and build a plant for the assembly of electric vehicles. Time is changing very quickly, industry should be based on knowledge,” the head of state said.
For information, in August 2020, it became known that the construction of an electric vehicle assembly plant had begun in the “Kokand” free economic zone. The project is being implemented by the “Shaffof Omad Sanoat” LLC.
The total cost of the project, implemented jointly with the Chinese Silk Road Company, is $30 million, including $24 million of foreign investment.
Preliminary calculations have shown that the estimated cost of a domestic electric vehicle will be $3,000. The company plans to start producing electric vehicles from 2021.
