Hospitals overcrowded, patient admission suspended: Zangiota reports a sharp increase in the number of patients
Zangiota specialized multidisciplinary hospital of infectious diseases reached maximum number of patients.
“Our hospital is designed for 2 thousand patients, but currently 2,550 patients are accommodated here. The number of patients with coronavirus has increased, especially among pregnant women and children. This situation shows that without vaccination, the problem cannot be solved,” reports Olimjon Iskhakov, deputy director of the 1-Zangiota Specialized Multidisciplinary Hospital of Infectious Diseases.
He also said that recently up to 600 complaints have been received daily.
“About 350 of them were hospitalized. Due to the overcrowding of the hospital, the appointment was suspended last night,” he said.
Ulugbek Islamov, head of the reception and diagnostic department of the 2-Zangiota specialized multidisciplinary hospital of infectious diseases, said that about 700 people apply to the hospital every day, about 30% of which are hospitalized.
“We had 6 intensive care units: we had to open another department yesterday. All patients who are in the hospital are not vaccinated,” he concluded.
Earlier it was reported that Tashkent reopens distribution centers for coronavirus patients in the Uzexpomarkaz exhibition complex, the Universal and Yoshlik sports complexes.
