German Embassy in Uzbekistan suspends issuance of visas
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Uzbekistan has suspended the issuance of visas.
This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission in Tashkent.
“Due to the current special foreign policy situation, the visa section of the embassy in Tashkent will be closed until further notice. Appointments for interviews at the German Embassy in Tashkent, especially for visa applications, are canceled with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
It is noted that “a new publication will follow in due course with the possibility of scheduling a new meeting”.
“Please refrain from further inquiries. The embassy cannot answer inquiries on this matter at this time,” the embassy concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that evacuated citizens of Germany, Afghanistan and EU countries are being delivered from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that on August 17, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier. As it became known, during the conversation, Mirziyoyev and Steinmeier discussed the progress of the evacuation of German citizens from Afghanistan.
Also, on August 18, Mirziyoyev and Merkel discussed by phone the evacuation of foreigners from Afghanistan.
