Srečko Katanec officially becomes head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team
Srečko Katanec has officially become the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team. He has signed a corresponding contract with the Uzbekistan Football Association.
The contract with the Slovenian specialist is valid until 2025.
Katanec worked in the Gorica and Olympiacos clubs. He also headed the national teams of Slovenia, Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
Under his management, Slovenia qualified for its first-ever UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup in 2000 and 2002, respectively.
It should be recalled that in mid-June, the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Vadim Abramov, was relieved of his post.
