Shrapnel strikes a minibus evacuating Uzbek citizens in Kharkov
The shell pieces damaged the front window and side windows of the bus belonging to the embassy.
A minibus belonging to the Uzbek embassy was struck by a piece of shrapnel while it was evacuating Uzbek citizens from Kharkov, the Uzbek Ambassador to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov reported.
“In Kharkiv, the front window of the diplomatic minibus belonging to the embassy, the side windows were damaged by a piece of shell. Allegedly, shrapnel fell on the bus window,” the ambassador said.
According to Alisher Kurmanov, no civilians were injured in the incident.
“Our diplomat had to take a train with the students to Lviv. It was very difficult and dangerous to get out of Kharkov by car. We couldn’t get there by car. We had to get to the destination as soon as possible. The vehicle was damaged and ran out of fuel. That’s why we left the minibus at the station,” Alisher Kurmanov said.
As the ambassador said, after the situation calms down, representatives of the Uzbek diaspora will be asked to move the vehicle to another location.
