US Embassy Consular Section opens free online non-immigrant visa appointment slots

“The Consular Section recognizes the current difficulty of booking a free online non-immigrant visa appointment, and in response, will be opening more than 500 visa appointment slots on Thursday, September 15th, at 4:00 p.m. local time (07:00 a.m. US Eastern Standard Time),” the embassy said in a statement.

According to the embassy, appointments from October through December will be available for citizens and residents of Uzbekistan only.

“We expect that the appointments will go quickly, and we encourage all travelers to be prepared to take advantage of this event!” the message notes.

The US Embassy reminded that before one can book an online appointment they must complete and submit their DS-160 online application to receive a unique Barcode Number.  

“When you are ready to book an appointment, you will need to enter your biographical information exactly as it was written on your visa application,” the embassy added.
