Ulugbek Ruzikulov returns to Uzavtosanoat leadership
He also headed Uzavtosanoat in 2015-2017.
Ulugbek Ruzikulov, the former deputy PM, former head of Uzavtosanoat and Uzbekistan Airways, was again appointed to the position of board chairman of Uzavtosanoat. The company’s website lists him as the new chairman.
Ulugbek Ruzikulov (born in 1969) is a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University, a graduate of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, candidate of economic sciences.
Previously, Ulugbek Ruzikulov worked in various positions in the Cabinet of Ministers. From 2015 to 2017, he was the deputy prime minister and the board chairman of Uzavtosanoat.
In August 2017, he was released from this position, and soon after, he was appointed the head of Uzbekistan Airways.
In January 2018, after a bus carrying Uzbek citizens caught fire in the territory of Kazakhstan, he was removed from the airline management.
Since 2018, he has been working as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Indonesia (also, since October 2019 – to Vietnam).
Earlier, Shavkat Umrzakov, who has been leading Uzavtosanoat since 2018, was appointed acting governor of Tashkent city.
