Ex-deputy governor of Surkhandarya region sentenced to 8.5 years

On December 7, 2023, a criminal case was considered at an open court session (chaired by O. Begimkulov) in the building of the Termiz district court.

In the court case, Rustam Pardayev was found guilty of committing the crimes of under Paragraph “a” of Article 205-2 (Abuse of official power), Paragraph “a” of Article 168-4 (Fraud), Paragraph “a” of Article 167-3 (Misappropriation) and Paragraph “a” of Article 209-2 (Professional fraud) of the Criminal Code.

Rustam Pardayev was deprived of the right to work in positions of responsibility and financial responsibility in state bodies and organizations with state participation for a period of 2 years and 6 months by partially adding the punishments imposed on the basis of Article 59 of the Criminal Code; he was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment. It was decided that the sentence will be served in the general order colonies, and the term of serving the sentence will be counted from July 5, 2023.

For information, Rustam Pardayev was charged with Paragraph Articles 205-2, 209-2, 167-3, 28, 228-2, 168-4, 205-2 and 167-3 of the Criminal Code. 

According to the Supreme Court, now the appeal submitted by R.Pardayev and his defenders against the verdict of the court of first instance in the procedure of appeal is being formalized for hearing at the appellate instance of the court of criminal cases of the Surkhandarya regional court.
