Khalilillo Turakhodjayev becomes head of Competition Committee

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan Khalilillo Turakhodjayev was elected chairman of the Committee for Developing Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights at a plenary meeting of the Senate. His candidacy was presented by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Since January 2021, Turakhodjayev has worked as Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan – Chairman of the Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases.

The previous head of the committee, Shokhrukh Shorakhmetov, was relieved of his post in November 2023. Before this, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the activities of the committee and ordered to consider the issue of Sharakhmetov’s suitability for his position.
