Paris 2024: Razambek Zhamalov wins gold in freestyle wrestling
In the final match, Zhamalov faced off against Japan's Daichi Takatani and secured an early victory over his opponent.
It's worth noting that in the previous rounds, Zhamalov triumphed over Olympic finalist Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov (Neutral), four-time European champion Tajmuraz Salkazanov (Slovakia), Albania's Chermen Valiev, and Tajikistan's Viktor Rassadin.
Thus, the Uzbekistan wrestling team concluded the tournament with 1 gold and 1 bronze medal. Earlier, in the 67 kg category, Gulomjon Abdullaev had secured a spot among the medalists.
The total medal count for the Uzbekistan delegation has now reached 10 — 6 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze.
