Tajik general arrested in Uzbekistan for drug trafficking
Fayzullo Gadoyev, former head of the Interior Ministry Drug Enforcement Directorate of Tajikistan, has been imprisoned for his involvement in large-scale drug trafficking, Asia-Plus reports.
Tajikistan’s Supreme Court sentenced Mr. Gadoyev to 28 years of incarceration according the Interior Ministry’s press service.
The ex-head is found guilty of several crimes, such as drug trafficking, money laundering, abuse of power and bribe taking.
The Supreme Court deprived Mr. Gadoyev of all previous state honors and awards. He was also stripped of his rank Lieutenant-General.
It is worth noting that Fayzullo Gadoyev was born in Sariasiya district of Surkhandarya region, Uzbekistan. He was arrested by the operational staff of the Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry and handed over to Tajikistan.
