Following Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic also wants to increase the number of visa-free travel countries
Azizbek Madmarov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, proposed introducing a visa-free regime to citizens of another 10 countries, Kyrgyz media reports.
Deputy FM noted that currently the country has a visa-free agreement with 45 countries. He proposed to increase this number to 55. According to him it will help improve the republic’s tourism potential.
“In 2017, visas were granted to 41 thousand 242 people and in 2018, only to 2 thousand 600 people. To develop tourism, we need to reach an agreement on visa-free travel with another 10 countries,” Madmarov said.
He further noted that it is important to pay attention to e-visas. “As of today, out of 33 thousand e-visas provided, 25 thousand are tourist visas,” he added.
