Citizens of Tajikistan stranded on the Uzbek-Kazakh border returned to their homeland
More than 200 Tajik citizens, who were stranded on the Uzbek-Kazakh border due to the coronavirus pandemic, have returned to their homeland, the MFA press service reported.
The ministry clarified that more than 200 citizens of Tajikistan, who, due to the closure of the borders, were temporarily left stranded at the checkpoint “Zhibek Zholy” on the state border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, returned to their homeland.
Returning the people was organized in cooperation with the relevant authorities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Regional Office of the International Organization for Migration in Central Asia.
