Where are Uzbeks traveling? Statistics Committee names top destinations
According to data released by the Statistics Committee, over 1.5 million citizens of Uzbekistan traveled abroad for tourism between January and March 2025. This marks a 20.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
The majority of Uzbek tourists preferred destinations within the region, with neighboring Kyrgyzstan attracting the highest number of visitors. A total of 631,240 Uzbek nationals visited Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of the year. Tajikistan and Kazakhstan followed, drawing 281,539 and 240,644 visitors respectively.
Among non-CIS countries, Saudi Arabia stood out as the most popular destination, with 112,274 Uzbeks traveling there – likely influenced by religious pilgrimages and the country’s expanding tourism sector. Russia also remained a common choice, hosting 69,065 Uzbek tourists during the same period.
Other notable destinations included:
- Türkiye – 46,566 visitors
- United Arab Emirates – 44,796 visitors
- Egypt – 16,689 visitors
- Thailand – 13,456 visitors
- Vietnam – 9,574 visitors
- Other countries combined – 53,704 visitors
