Mirziyoyev reprimands khokim of Kashkadarya region for shortcomings in tourism field
At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, 14 district khokims were dismissed, but they will be given a three-month trial period to make changes.
Murodjon Azimov, the khokim of Kashkadarya region, was criticized for the poor performance of the region in the field of tourism. This was announced at a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on measures to further increase the domestic and foreign tourism potential of the country.
It was noted at the meeting that since the beginning of the year, Samarkand has received 900,000 domestic tourists, Fergana - 850,000, Andijan - 650,000. However, the results of some regions, districts and cities are not good. 151,000 domestic tourists visited Syrdarya, 262,000 - Navoi, and 275,000 - Jizzakh, which was much less than their potential.
“Services for foreign tourists are very low in Kashkadarya, and tourism services are not provided at all in Shakhrisabz, Yakkabog, Kamashi and Kasbi districts.
At the same time, in Jizzakh, Navoi, Syrdarya, Namangan and Surkhandarya, revenues from providing services to foreign tourists are far behind the rest of the regions. Tourism services are not provided at all in Sherabad, Oltinsoy, Kosonsoy, Turakurgan, Arnasoy, Karmana, Urgut, Gulistan, Yangiyul and Khiva districts,” the presidential press service said.
For insufficient organization of work:
- the khokim of Kashkadarya region, M. Azimov, was reprimanded;
- khokims of Shakhrisabz, Yakkabog, Kamashi, Kasbi, Kosonsoy, Turakurgan, Arnasoy, Karmana, Urgut, Sherabad, Oltinsoy, Gulistan, Yangiyul, Khiva districts were dismissed today and given a three-month trial period to make changes.
