President Mirziyoyev reviews reconstruction plan for Abdulla Kadiri Park
The Abdulla Kadiri Park in Tashkent is set to undergo reconstruction, which will include the planting of new trees, the construction of a floating bridge, and more. On December 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of projects for the park's construction and improvement.
The park will feature fountains, a new planetarium, and a gastro-hall to attract tourists. Walking areas will be enhanced, and the amount of green space will be increased.
“These plans are good, but it’s necessary to add more national elements. It’s important to reflect the city’s history and the traditions of our people. Everyone, regardless of age, should be able to find a space in the park that suits them,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In a report by "Uzbekistan 24," Russian designer Irina Litvinova explained that the concept for the park was developed based on feedback from local residents.
“The surroundings in this part of the city are more traditional, so we decided to make this park somewhat traditional as well. We’ve integrated elements of national culture into the park, using unique colors, patterns, and aspects of the Uzbek way of life,” she said.
The park, situated along the central axis, will be integrated with the Chorsu Market area. According to the project developers, it will also become a significant destination for city visitors.
One of the park's standout features will be a modern drip irrigation system, which will provide the trees with the necessary moisture.
Among the park’s key landmarks will be an observation tower.
“This elegant structure does not disrupt the overall appearance of the park but offers visitors the chance to see the city from a bird’s-eye view, with vistas of azure domes, the Hazrati Imam complex, Chorsu Market, and the traditional part of the city,” noted Litvinova.
It is worth recalling that the Tashkent city administration previously transferred the park to an Uzbek-Singapore joint venture for 49 years. The reconstruction is expected to take three years.
