New culinary destination: 250 businesses to open on Tashkent's gastronomic street
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved a project to transform a 7.3-kilometer road in the Almazar district of Tashkent into a gastronomic street. The plan, announced during a meeting on Friday, involves converting a stretch that passes through 17 streets into a vibrant food destination.
This initiative is part of broader discussions on key tasks for the year aimed at advancing the service sector.
The project aims to open 250 trade and service establishments along these streets, creating at least 1,500 jobs. Additionally, it was noted that 26 more streets in the capital could be turned into vibrant, round-the-clock zones, with the number of 24-hour retail outlets expected to increase by 1,000.
The president emphasized the importance of ensuring that tourist and service locations remain operational in the evening hours.
